NMSI is made up of the three Museums of the Science Museum, National Museum of Film, Photography and Television and National Railway Museums. Caption:
Made from walnut coloured Bakelite (Phenol formaldehyde), it has a 'Michelin' man of ivory urea formaldehyde sitting on its edge and was made to promote Michelin tyres. Phenolic and urea formaldehyde plastics are heat resistant so are well suited for use as ashtrays.
